Rebecca Bossenbroek

Rebecca has served in this role since May 2018, working part-time remotely during non-traditional
hours. She reports to the Bishop and partners with the Vice President and Treasurer to develop policy,
create budgets, and monitor financial performance.

Her work with the Synod began in 2005 as Executive Assistant for Administration and included the role
of Equipping Leaders for Mission & Ministry Administrator from 2013-2022. She holds a Bachelor of
Business Administration from Davenport University and is a Certified Human Resources Specialist.

She served in several positions with St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Lansing: Director of Worship,
Treasurer, President, Secretary, and Finance Team Leader. Currently, Rebecca serves as an
Ordained Ruling Elder with First Presbyterian Church in Holt, where she is part of the Worship
Committee, sings in the choir, and coordinates children’s involvement in worship, emphasizing music,
movement, and meaning.

Rebecca is a dedicated member of Sistrum (aka Lansing Women’s Chorus), a 60-voice group known
for their commitment to social justice in the greater-Lansing community. A life-long learner, she invests
her time and energy in courses offered by Union Presbyterian Seminary’s Womanist Leadership
Institute.
