SUMMARY:Transformed Listeners Initiative: Faithful Listening\, Bold Proclamation
DESCRIPTION:The Transformed Listeners Initiative is a program from the ELCA churchwide office focusing on equipping lay and ordained leaders to be better listeners. Listening to themselves\, listening to their community\, and listening to God. Through listening practices\, we can better proclaim and preach the Good News to a tired and weary world. \nThe Initiative is hosting a series of interactive workshops for lay and rostered leaders in January and would like to invite YOU to attend! The theme of the workshops are Community\, Gospel and Kin-dom. The workshops will be participatory Zoom session facilitated by author and theologian Sharei Green. Participates may go to just one session or all of them. Each workshop will have independent content. \nClick the website below to register!

DESCRIPTION:ALL are invited to our first-ever Synod Connection Day – a time for fun\, worship\, learning and fellowship! Come for as much as you’re able and choose the activities that interest you. \n  \nThursday\, January 22 \nOutdoor Evening at Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park \n6:00PM – Luge**\, skate\, snowshoe or cross-country ski at the Winter Sports Park \n**Please note that the luge activity costs $35 – RSVP will need to be in by January 10 \nIndoor Evening Option \n6:00PM – Worship at Frist Lutheran Church\, North Muskegon\, followed by a trivia night\, dinner at 7pm \n  \nFriday\, January 23 \n9:00AM – Morning worship followed by a Learning Session on Faith and Art \nEarly lunch on your own \n12:00PM – Afternoon visit to the Muskegon Museum of Art ($12) \nA time of cake\, coffee and conversation will be available after the art museum\, hosted by Pastor Bill Utrecht at his home. \n  \nLodging: Shoreline Inn – 750 Terrace Point Rd\, Muskegon\, MI 49440. Home stays with local Lutherans will also be available. Stony Lake Camp has graciously offered a stay at their Redpine cabin for the night ($50 cost\, 7 male bunks and 7 female bunks\, bathroom/showers in suite\, first come first serve). Since then\, they have helped several faith-based organizations achieve their dream of powering their facilities with solar energy while saving money on electric bills. \nAll are welcome to join Thursday\, January 22\, 2026 at 7:00pm to learn about Solar Faithful\, their offered financing options\, and to ask any questions. \nThe 30% federal IRA “Elective Pay” rebate is still available for tax-exempt organizations through the end of the 2027. This year\, our incredible slate of workshops and mainstage speakers include Rev. Joseph Yoo\, Dr. Andy Root\, Rev. Mike Ward\, Dr. Karoline Lewis\, Rev. Dr. Amy Lindeman Allen and so many more.
