Rostered leaders and their families are invited to a day for refreshment and renewal on June 21 at the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore and Traverse City. This year’s You Matter Day offers the opportunity to explore one of the most beautiful places in the nation–right here in our own synod! We’ll meet at the Visitor’s Center of the National Lakeshore at 9:30 am for a welcome and introduction to the area. Park staff will then lead an interpretive walk through the historic village of Glen Haven. The afternoon will have free time for hiking, climbing the dune, enjoying the water at Empire Beach, biking, or kayaking (gear will be available to rent in Empire). Picnic lunches will be available for you to enjoy in one of several sites around the lakeshore. The day will conclude with worship on the beach and dinner. Our synod will cover the costs of admission to the lakeshore, lunch, and dinner. A limited number of hotel rooms will also be made available for one night (either Monday or Tuesday).
