The North/West Lower Michigan Synod’s Autumn Leadership Event for Rostered Ministers will be held September 10, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland, MI.
The Autumn Leadership Event is a time for learning, worship, conversation, and connection. This year’s focus is walking with those dealing with mental and psychological challenges including ways to support them and their families.
Keynote Presenter
Dr. Erika Dianis has been a practicing licensed clinical psychologist in Michigan for over 12 years. She has experience working in various urban and rural settings such as hospitals, primary care clinics, community mental health agencies, nursing homes, and private clinics throughout Illinois, Vermont, and Michigan. Dr. Dianis has served individuals aged 18 months- 90 years old with various behavioral health needs and comorbid medical concerns. She has extensive experience in providing individual, group, and family therapy sessions, as well as conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations.
More recently, Dr. Dianis completed diagnostic evaluations for individuals with suspected autism (ASD) throughout central Michigan and provided integrated behavioral health therapy within a primary care setting. She is passionate about working with families and individuals living with autism and takes pride in helping them feel heard and understood. Dr. Dianis is currently a departmental specialist within the IDD/ASD section of the Bureau of Children’s Coordinated Health Policy and Supports at the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
In her free time, Dr. Dianis is completing coursework to further her career. She also enjoys attending obedience and agility training classes with her dog. Dr. Dianis is an accomplished musician and often provides music for her worship service. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Midland. As an avid traveler, she hopes to continue travelling and experiencing different cultures around the world.
Registration
The Autumn Leadership Event will be held from 8:30am – 4:00pm on September 10, 2024. The day will include worship, lunch, and three presentations. The registration fee is $38 and includes a light breakfast and lunch. Registration for this event closed on September 3, 2024.
If you choose to come early or stay over there are a variety of hotels near Trinity along the US 10 exit for Eastman Road in Midland.

Pre-Autumn Leadership Event Gathering
Rostered Ministers are invited to an evening social gathering at the Springhill Suites on Monday, September 9, from 7:00 – 10:00 pm. This Pre-Autumn Leadership Event Gathering is an opportunity to gather with old friends and make some new ones! Please bring your own beverage and a snack to share. Contact Pastor Julie Schneider-Thomas with any questions.
