Gratitude Lunches/Dinner on a Doorknob: St. Paul, Alpena

Posted: July 7, 2026 image

One of the many ways St. Paul Lutheran Church lives out its faith is through its Gratitude Lunches and Dinner on a Doorknob ministry. Gratitude Lunches offer more than a meal. These lunches provide an opportunity for fellowship, prayer, and a simple expression of thanks to businesses and non-profits in the wider Alpena community.

The spirit of generosity continues through Dinner on a Doorknob, a ministry that delivers meals to individuals and families experiencing difficult circumstances. Recipients receive not only a home-cooked meal but also a reminder that they are cared for and supported. Together, these ministries embody the congregation’s commitment to sharing God’s love beyond its walls and throughout the Alpena community.

We encourage you to read an excerpt from St. Paul’s newsletter that highlights these two very special ministries, shown below!
